Look Out for Your Chimneys.

EDITOR MORNING CALL:
The Chief Engineer of the Fire Department [Franklin E.R. Whitney] has directed me to request you to announce in your paper today that, in consequence of the severe shocks of earthquake, many chimneys and flues have been injured, and great care should be exercised in making fires, until the amount of damage is ascertained. By using this precaution, serious conflagrations may be prevented.

Very Respectfully,
WM. MARTIN, Clerk.
